Bead Tutorial

Good morning everyone!
Today we are showing you a bead tutorial by Jayne Mather, one of our talented DT ladies.

Isn't this stunning?
This Posy Box and necklace have all been made using the NEW Meerkat Madness paper crafting CD-ROM. The posy boxes are available as templates to print from the CD itself and here's how Jayne added those beautiful bead embellishments.

Step 1.
Choose 2 co-ordinating backing papers from the Meerkat Madness CD Rom and print on both sides of an A4 piece of white paper, (printing on the reverse will make it cost effective as you can get two completely different beads from one A4 sheet)

Step 2.
Measure at 2cm intervals and cut into long strips. Cut these strips in half (approx 10cm).
Using a pencil and ruler, place a mark at each side of your strip at 5cm and cut as shown to create a V shape.

Step 3.
Use the end of a brush (or similar) to roll each paper strip, securing with glue to create your paper bead.

Step 4
Start threading the beads onto wax cord, you could also use ribbon, leather, threads etc.

Each paper bead is separated using a small acrylic bead.

Knot after each acrylic bead to secure in place. Once finished used your beads as part of your projects, embellish card fronts, create beautiful jewellery or add stunning decorations to your posy boxes.
